Programme on Numerical Regularization Methods for Inverse Problems in Applied Sciences

September 1999 - December 2000

The Institute of Mathematical Sciences

The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Purpose of the programme

The programme will focus on the following three important directions in the field of numerical solutions of inverse problems:

  1. parameter identification problems,
  2. scattering problems,
  3. material defect reconstruction.

The main purpose is to explore efficient numerical methods for solving the inverse problems of the afore-metioned type which arise from applied sciences, and to investigate the convergence behaviors of the numerical methods.
