Topics to be covered:

Granular materials display a lot of interesting properties that are different from those commonly associated with either solids, liquids, or gases. A series of lectures providing an up-to-date review of this exciting area will be given by two leading researchers in the field. Topics to be covered include:

  1. Prof.S.Nagel :---- Statics, vibrations, inelastic gases
  2. Prof.D.Levine: --- Statics and slow flows, simulations, similarities and differences of granular materials with other systems
