J.A. Yan is a Professor of Mathematics in the Institute of Applied Mathematics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. Professor Yan's current research interests are in stochastic analysis and its applications in financial mathematics. He is an author or coauthor of 8 books and more than 60 research papers. He has presented invited lectures at 21st and 24th International Conference on Stochastic Processes and Their Applications. He is a past Chair of the Council of the Chinese Society of Probability and Statistics. Currently, he is a Member of the Committee for International Conferences on Stochstic Processes and Their Applications, and a Member of the Council of the Bernoulli Society for Mathematical Statistics and Probability. He has received the First Class Academia Sinica Prize for Natural Sciences in 1992 and the Second Class China State Prize for Natural Sciences in 1993.
