The workshop is part of a year long program on wavelets sponsored by the IMS. The purpose is to promote and to bring in the most up to date research of the field to this region. The topics to be discussed in the workshop will include :
time and frequency analysis
multiresolution analysis
wavelet packets and multiwavelets
dilation equations
image processing and data compression
There will be invited lectures and contributed talks. Also there will be two short courses (3 hours each) given by Professors C. Chui and S. Mallat.
