Direction to Mong Man Wai Building

You may reach The Chinese University of Hong Kong from the Hong Kong International Airport in two ways: by taxi or by bus and train. If it is your first time to Hong Kong, we recommend you take the taxi.

  1. By Taxi:
    The fare is about US$45 from the Airport to the University and the trip takes about 45 minutes. Most taxi drivers in Hong Kong know some English. The following texts may help just in case.

  2. By Airport Bus and Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Train:

    • Take airport bus route number A41 from the Airport to the MTR Shatin Station (fare: about US$3). The bus runs from 06:00 to 24:00 at 20-minute frequency. MTR Shatin Station is not the terminal stop for the bus, but it's the first bus stop after a long tunnel. Ask the driver where to get off if you are not sure. The bus ride takes about 70 minutes.

    • Then take the MTR trains from the Shatin Station to the University Station, that's where Chinese University is. The trains run every 5 to 10 minutes from 06:00 to 24:00. The train ride from the Shatin Station to the University Station (two stations away) takes about 8 minutes (fare: about US$0.6).

    • When you arrive at the University Station, you will see two exits - one to the Chinese University campus and the other to the public bus terminus and taxi stand. Once you are inside the campus, you will see a campus bus terminal on the right. Campus buses are free and run every 15 minutes during day time and 30 minutes during evening.     • Take the campus bus to New Asia College. The Mong Man Wai Building is only a minute walk east from there. All campus buses stop at New Asia College and most in fact terminate there. If you are not sure, please ask the driver. The campus bus ride takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

  3. By Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Train:

    • The Airport Express is a part of MTR railway systems, it can offers you swift, sure links between Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and city. The Airport Express runs every 12 minutes from 05:50 to 01:15 daily. Journeys between the Airport and downtown Hong Kong take approximately 24 minutes. For more information, please click here.


    • You can take Airport Express from Airport to Tsing Yi Station and cross-platform interchange MTR via Lai King, Price Edward and Kowloon Tong Stations to University Station. Please click here for MTR Map.

    • From Airport to Tsing Yi Station, the Airport Express fare is HK$60, about US$8. From Tsing Yi Station to University station, the total MTR fare is HK$14, about US$1.8.


    • When you arrive at the University Station, you will see two exits - one to the Chinese University campus and the other to the public bus terminus and taxi stand.
