sponsored by The Institute of Mathematical
Sciences, The Chinese University of
Hong Kong (IMS, CUHK), and published by International
Press. It is dedicated to rapid publication of the highest quality
short papers (up to 10 journal pages), regular papers (up to 20 journal
pages), and expository papers (up to 30 journal pages). Papers which exceed
the above page limit will be accepted subject to the approval of the Editorial
Board. Manuscripts in all the following areas will be considered for publication:
Information and Coding theory, Cryptology, Decision and Estimation, Control
Theory, Mathematical System Theory, Signal and Image Processing, Communication
theory, Image Database, Data mining, Probabilistic Reasoning, Learning
Theory, Speech Recognition, Computer Vision, Discrete Event System, etc.

Submission
of Manuscripts
Correspondence by e-mail is requested for convenience and speed.
Authors may submit manuscripts in English to any member of the Editorial
Board. A Postscript or PDF file with a cover letter must be sent
to the corresponding editor by e-mail. The cover letter should give the
author's preferred address, e-mail address, phone number and fax number,
and should indicate the intended publication format (Short paper, Regular
paper or Expository paper). Each submission should include an informative
abstract of no more than 200 words. A list of e-mail addresses for
all editorial board members is given on the inside front and back covers.
Authors of all accepted papers must send the electronic version of the
final manuscript approved by the Editorial Board (preferably in TeX or
its variants) to the corresponding editor.
Manuscript
Style, Illustrations and Photos
The manuscript should be typewritten using double spacing, one side
of sheet only. All pages should be numbered consecutively, including illustration
pages (which preferably should be grouped at the end), with no omitted
page numbers. Figures should be identified with the figure number and author's
name at the bottom or on the back. Information should be kept on the margin,
off the body of the figure.
Figures and photos should be original proofs and not photocopies. Photos
must be prints with no screens. Laser prints are not acceptable in place
of photos or where gray scale graphics are involved. All line drawings
and photo should be in black and white, unless specifically requested.
Note that any illustration that is to be printed in color will be at the
expense of the author.
Copyright
By submitting a manuscript for publication to Communications in Information
and Systems, authors acknowledge that the work is original and is not being
submitted to another journal. When a paper is accepted for publication,
the author will be asked to transfer the copyright to International Press.
Even if the copyright is transferred to the publisher, the authors and
their employers will be permitted to reproduce their work for fair use,
which should not include any profit making activity. The paper will not
be published if the Consent to Publish and
Copyright Agreement Form is not signed and returned to Communications
in Information and Systems, c/o International Press, 385 Somerville
Ave., P.O. Box 43502, Somerville, MA 02143, USA.
